OIL SPILL HAIR, FUR, FLEECE BOOMS DEMO
What is it? A step-by-step guide to demonstrating the efficiency of hair booms.
Who is it for? Demo by Teachers, College students, Adults, Audience from 5 years old on and over

After many years of promoting the Hair Boom Program, students, teachers, scouts and other individuals have asked us if they could do a oil spill experiment themselves. Of course, we said! After doing a couple hundred of these experiments ourselves, we realized used motor oil and kids just wasn't safe.

You'll see if this video, how we came up with a non-toxic oil substitute using vegetable oil and oil based paint! Check it out!

We also have a print out with written instructions on how to make fake oil.

After you've made the fake oil, please take a look at our Oil Spill Demo. Here you will find step by step instructions on how to complete an entire oil spill, what you'll need for supplies and how to dispose of the oily items afterwards.

Finally, what we have here is our Experiment Kit. It's a full on science experiment. You'll look at all aspects of an oil spill and determine your own conclusion.

Wrap Stars
What is it? A classroom/after school activity in which students compare different kinds of packaging and come up with their own packaging designs.
Who is it for? Adults and students 10 years old and over

A great school project! Set up containers at stores for people to immediately dump the packaging from their newly purchased products. Students can manually take apart and study annoying packaging. And then come up with an alternative design that is less wasteful and equally protective. Here is a lesson plan we've created for students and teachers. This is a full on interactive lesson looking at plastics and other alternative materials. Click here to print it out!
