San Francisco, CA – Matter of Trust Eco-Center opens its doors at 3338 17th Street (near Valencia) in San Francisco’s vibrant Mission District.  A 501(c)3 ecological public charity since 1998, Matter Of Trust is expanding its online / fieldwork presence and now providing a beautiful neighborhood space for delivering programs on renewable resources, manmade surplus, naturally abundant materials and eco-education.

For its 15th anniversary, Matter of Trust created a hub for innovation and collaboration, where community-driven solutions can reduce impact on the environment, generate local economic opportunity, and shift attitudes on waste and abundance.

Offering visually and stimulating interactive exhibits, the Eco-Center attracts visitors of all ages.  It provides many hands-on educational experiences, seasonally rotating programs, tours, field trips, camps, after school programs, workshops, films, salons, lectures, green jobs apprentice referrals and a reference library.

The inviting gift shop, full of eco-friendly and responsibly sourced goods, features unique organic, locally produced, sustainable gifts and fair trade merchandise.

B’earthday parties and Eco-baby showers are offered at the venue.  It is also the home base for youth activities already this summer such as Sprouts for 7-10 year olds and LEAF Academy, a popular eco-education program for middle school kids.  Currently they are accepting enrollment for Making Music, a free song and rhythm summer camp for 8-10 year olds and workshops in instrument making out of recycled materials.

An Expert’s Workbench is available for local, charismatic, helpful craftspeople and artisans to work, demonstrate their talents and sell their creative products while being part of a living exhibit.

Matter of Trust Eco-Center is open to the public 7 days a week from noon to 5 PM, and local residents are encouraged to visit and welcome to innovate.
